Great tasting Kumaoni Recipes
Seeyal:
A must have sweet dish in every Kumaoni marriage or other special occasions like birthdays. It is high in
fat but tastes great.

Ingredients
Semolina (Sooji)                                500 grams
Powered Sugar                                   50 grams (grounded to a fine power)
Banana pulp                                      ½ Cup
Cardamom powder                             1/2 tea spoon
Yogurt (Curd)                                    250 grams
Oil or Ghee                                       250 grams

Method:
In a big bowl mix Semolina with 50 grams of oil.
Add the banana pulp to the above mix.
In another bowl mix yogurt curd, sugar power and cardamom powder till it becomes consistent.
Mix the semolina mixture with the yogurt mixture.
Keep the mixture aside for about 1 hour.
In a pan add remaining oil and heat it well.
Pour the semolina mixture in the heated oil in shape of thick jalebies or pretzels.
Fry it till the seeyal turns golden brown.
