Raja Haruheet Temple temple is situated in “Gujuru kot” Talla sult near to Bhounkhal, about 46 KM from Ramnagar.
He was known for his truth, justice and as a great warrior.
The people of the area believe that his soul still lives and is doing justice till date. They have lot of stories relating to it.
Backgound:
Raja Haruheet was the king of Sult (Talla sult, Palla sult and Malla sult) and Patti Naya. When he was child his seven elder brothers and father died due to the “Haiza” (cholera).
Ham and Dham were two strong kings of that time. They kidnapped his elders brothers wives and capture all the lands and Bourada fields ( Bourada ka Sharya ). But Haruheet fight with them bravely and recaptured the land and also safe the life and dignity of his all Bhabhi’s (sister-in-law).
One day his Bhabhi’s teased him and said if you are really a brave and strong king, then marry with the daughter of Bhout King her name was Malushai. He accepted challenged and went in Bhout country. He met with Raj Kumari Malushai in a temple she was very beautiful. They fall in love. But the king of Bhout( known for magic) not agree with their love. Then Haruheet bravely fight with the Bhout king and with his army. He won the fight and got married with Rajkumari.
Example of technology during his era:
Still one can see the underground stairs which connected “Gujuru kot” (Palace of Haruheet) with Ramganga river, the total length of stairs is around 4 KM and are completely underground. His wife Malushai is said to have used it when she went to take bath in the Ramganga river. Still impressions of her cloths are believed to be there on one of the stones which lying near bank of river. The stone is called “Hansiya Dhung”.
